Long ago, at a series of events all over the Los Angeles area, I was lucky enough to interview a few members of the cast of Zoey 101. Now that they’ve reunited for Zoey 102, this is the perfect time to revisit some of those interviews. I also talked with a couple of people who joined the cast as new characters in Zoey 102.
Audrey Whitby (Lyric Reese)
I talked to the cast of So Random! at the premiere of Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer on June 4, 2011. This red carpet took place at the Arclight in Hollywood. It was definitely NOT a bummer chatting with these funny people (left to right): Audrey Whitby, Matthew Scott Montgomery and Allisyn Ashley Arm).
Thomas Lennon (Kelly Kevyn)
This was the red carpet for the Herbie: Fully Loaded premiere at the El Capitan in Hollywood, on June 19th, 2005. My very first red carpet, and I got so many good interviews – Aly & AJ, Justin Long, Michael Keaton and Thomas Lennon! I was so inexperienced, but he was very gracious. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be funny when you’re interacting with someone who is so new to different types of humor (and just worried about doing a good job during her first celebrity interviews).
Christopher Massey (Michael Barret)
This was the very first of many times I talked with Chris & Kyle, which is why I was a little shy. Plus it was only my second red carpet ever! It was the premiere of Sky High, held at the El Capitan in Hollywood on July 24th, 2005. This chat was very short compared to the other times we met – if you watch any others, you’ll see that they came over to see me and talked for much longer.
Erin Sanders (Quinn Pensky)
I talked to Erin Sanders a few times, but this was the first. This took place at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. It was the premiere of The Ant Bully, on July 23rd, 2006. Erin was very busy working on Zoey 101 at that time!
Matthew Underwood (Logan Reese)
This interview with Matthew was so fun, because we were on a boat (at Jillian Clare’s 16th birthday party in Long Beach) and had plenty of time to chat. Normally, on a red carpet, we’d just have a quick interaction, so it was refreshing to be able to get to know him better through his love of animals.
This interview took place on July 25th, 2008. I believe our paths crossed at an earlier red carpet, but I was too nervous to talk with Matthew then. That was very rare for me, so I think I must’ve had a bit of a crush. Luckily, I got over my nerves this time and really enjoyed interviewing him.
