It’s always fun to check out the latest in technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and this year was my 9th consecutive year on the show floor. I saw some cool stuff and talked to a lot of really nice people. Check out my interviews below, in alphabetical order by company name.

Liz, from Belkin, gave me a tour of their booth, which looked like the inside of a house. It was full of devices to keep you connected with your home and save energy too. I especially love the idea of being able to watch your DVR even when you’re not at home. (When this comes out, it may replace the Slingbox I’ve been using for the last few years.)

I learned quite a bit from Marc, about 3D glasses and eyewear in general. Aside from the fact that regular 3D glasses are ugly, I find they just keep falling off. With all the EX3D styles and sizes, there’s something for everyone, and having them fit right can make all the difference in whether or not you enjoy a 3D movie.

Environmental-friendliness is a big plus in my book, where any product is concerned. Unfortunately, a lot of electronics are NOT safe for the environment, but Gazelle is here to help protect the environment AND possibly put money in your pocket for doing it. Please, don’t EVER throw your old electronics in the trash.

You know I’m all about giving back and making a difference. I jump at the chance to interview someone who shares that vision, and the people of the House of Marley do. It was wonderful to talk with Rohan Marley, and hear about the company’s support of future generations through cool products.

I talk to Intel every year on the CES show floor. This year, I got the scoop on all the benefits of using the sleek, lightweight Ultrabook. Thanks to Intel technology, these are already available from some of your favorite laptop manufacturers.

JAKKS Pacific has some cool stuff for kids, so I’m always happy to check out what’s new with them. This year they’re offering more than just toys. I’m really interested in the spy stuff (not just for boys!) and I like the new interface for TV Games.

LG showed off some pretty impressive things at CES this year, like their 55″ 3D OLED TV and some interesting 3D technology for gaming. They also have something you don’t usually see on the CES show floor – major appliances! Their fridges keep getting more streamlined and energy efficient, they’re nice to look at, and have some “cool” new features. I’m hoping someday our appliances will make meals on their own – sounds like it could be pretty soon, if LG has anything to do with it!

I’m always excited to come across green products on the show floor, and I don’t mean the color green. While I never throw electronics in the trash because they contain hazardous materials, are other things like plastic phone cases cluttering up our landfills and potentially harming our groundwater? With the Nite Ize BioCase, there’s no worry. I hope manufacturers of other types of products follow in their footsteps!

I’m really into photography, so this product interested me right away. I especially love taking macro shots, and with olloclip, I can now do that, plus wide-angle and fisheye with my iPhone camera! How cool is that?
—
I talk to OtterBox most years, and this time I was excited to see that they are partnering with Livestrong. It’s always nice to see a company use their products to help benefit a non-profit organization and encourage people to give back.

Pleo is one of my favorite robots, and the fact that it’s a dinosaur makes it even cooler. Every year I check in with the folks at Pleo to see what’s new, and this year I got quite the scoop from Derek. Not only can you get Pleo in more colors now, but they also have a new way to keep in touch with your Pleo when you’re away.

I love robots, so I was excited to talk to Trang from TOSY about the different ones they offer. They also had something very exciting to unveil at CES, and a very special guest to introduce it…

I love talking to Daniel from Yurbuds. Not just because he’s such a great guy and always happy to see me, but also because I’ve used their product and I know it’s worth talking about. I never liked using earbuds before I tried Yurbuds, because they didn’t fit right. Yurbuds come in different sizes, so you can get the right fit, and won’t fall out, no matter how active you are.

I talked with Brad from Zagg about the Zaggfolio and Zaggkeys keyboards for mobile devices. I also highly recommend Zagg’s Invisible Shield screen protectors – great protection for your phone or music player!
