Meet Chloe J, one of JENNiRADIO’s Rising Stars. I’ve spent lots of time with Chloe, since she’s one of my co-hosts for All Star Planet. She’s a very talented singer, and she’s performed at many schools around southern California.
Here’s Chloe’s bio…
Chloe J demonstrated her passion for acting and singing at the very early age of 2. Her parents recognized her desire to be a performer and her training began. By the age of 5, Chloe was taking various acting, modeling and voice classes. In 1st grade, Chloe J performed in the school talent show and sang, “New York, New York.” As a result of that event, Chloe became well known as, “The Kid in a Small Body with a Big Voice!” From then on, Chloe J has been involved in many theatrical plays, talent shows, singing competitions (winning 2 gold medals) and she has devoted much time to singing in convalescent homes.
By the age of 10, Chloe J received the 2005 Broadway Award and achieved the Beginning Voice study certificate from ASCAP. At 11 years old, Chloe J made her singing debut at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles as the opening act for Gary Valenciano’s concert, which drew over 2,500 fans. In 2006, Chloe J was also featured in the “Doe Boy Fresh” music video by Three 6 Mafia featuring Chamillionaire. In March 2007, Chloe J received two awards from The Jazzone and The Studio of Music (“On-Stage Performance 2007 & “Most Outstanding Pop Voice 2007”).
Chloe J has played the lead role in many theatrical performances, including Laurey in “Oklahoma” and Sarah Brown in “Guys & Dolls.” Chloe J was the lead actress in a Girl Scout commercial and has played the lead and supporting roles in various film projects. Chloe starred in “The Road to Asylum,” an independent film under the 168 Film Project which was nominated “Best Children’s Film.”
At 12 years of age, Chloe J recorded seven original songs as a solo artist. She opened a music myspace last July 2007 which quickly grew attention. The unique tone in her voice, especially at her age, captivated fans and producers alike. She has acquired over 31,000 friends on mysapce and has a great fan base that supports her through her career.
In October 2007, Chloe J was chosen as the Artist of the Week at Hitquarters.com, a worldwide A&R music directory. She was also selected as Songwriter of the Month for November 2007 for her song, “Nobody.” Hitquarters.com wrote, “Chloe J is 12 years old. Does that mean that she sings like a 12 year old – no. Be sure to listen to this little wonder before she is discovered by the rest of the world.”
In October 2008, Chloe J was one of the lead singers to sing, “We Are the World”, at the World Music Tribute to the Humanitarian Works of Quincy Jones. Many global dialects were represented in the performance of “We Are the World” along with the Pilgrim Choir, and Chloe J sang her verse in Spanish.
Chloe J is one of the hosts of All Star Planet and also designed the All Star Planet logo.
Currently, at just 14 years old, Chloe J is a regular performer with two school touring groups (P.A.C.E. & ACTIVE School Tours). She performs weekly at Middle & High Schools and other venues throughout the Los Angeles area, using her singing talent to encourage young people to commit to their education. She performs to an average of 180,000 students a year. Chloe is currently taking advanced acting classes with Gary Spatz’s Young Actors’ Conservatory and voice lessons with Billy Purnell. To perfect her craft, she is also taking dance classes, piano, and lyrics writing. All of this while still maintaining a stellar grade point average.
